Dreamy wedding gowns take runway at ‘Journey to Ever After…
A lovely fashion show with a breathtaking view of the sunset capped off the two-day “Journey to Ever After: In Bloom” held at the Ceremony Garden of the Mactan Newtown Beach last Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026.
Jointly hosted by Mercure Mactan Cebu and Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown, the fashion show presented dreamy designs from the Fashion Institute of Design & Arts (FIDA) and worn by models from Shutter Models and Talent Management.
Set against a stunning backdrop featuring the soft hues of the setting sun and the blues of Mactan Channel, the event provided future brides and grooms, as well as members of the entourage, with options on what to wear on their wedding day.
Showcased were gowns and suits by homegrown designers from FIDA: Mel Maria, Valerie Alvez, Philipp Tampus, Cris Escobido, Ia Coca, Maria Navarrete, Ayka Lim, Yoko Sato, Jeanom Ursua, Rabbi, and Reynan Paul. The show was directed by FIDA Director Ms. Marissa-Gapud Ceniza.
Officially opening the event last Sept. 26 were the General Managers of Megaworld Global Hotels & Resorts’ properties in Mactan, Ms. Gwen De La Cruz of Mercure Mactan Cebu and Mr. Josef Victor Chiongbian of Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown, alongside co-presenter Oro China Jewelry’s Cheryl Ancajas and event partner Belle Mariée Wedding Events, represented by seasoned wedding planner Ms. Joan Aviso-Lapus.
At the fair, fashion mentor and licensed cosmetologist Rhino Deiparine shared tips on how brides can look their best on their wedding day.
